This site documents the schemas behind the @common-grants/cg-federal plugin.

Two layers

  • Information Collections — the NOFO IC model and its sub-models (funding opportunity, project, cost sharing). These are composed from the SDEs below and are what the plugin maps to and from CommonGrants.
  • Standard Data Elements — the atomic field definitions the federal grant data standards working group maintains. Each IC field references one of these, so you can trace any field back to its authoritative type, constraints, and provenance.

Every schema on this site is generated directly from the JSON Schema files in the repository’s schemas/ directory — the same files the plugin validates against.

Seeing it work

Section titled “Seeing it work”

From Simpler.Grants.gov to the federal standard takes one opportunity record published by Simpler.Grants.gov, converts it into a federal NOFO IC, and validates the result against those schemas, showing which fields map straight across and which have to be restated in a different government code system.
